Our Story

The Anchor
A Historic Heart of Sidlesham

Our Story

The Anchor is a traditional pub in Sidlesham, just minutes from Chichester. Our building dates back to the 18th century, with historical records confirming its presence as early as 1716 - and it even features a medieval barn that now serves as our characterful restaurant.

With rustic beams, log fires in the winter, and a stunning outdoor terrace for the summer, The Anchor offers a timeless setting. We’re a stone’s throw from St. Mary’s Church, Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve, and Chichester Marina. Whether you’re on holiday in Selsey, sailing in Chichester Harbour, or heading to Goodwood, we’re a great place to relax, eat and unwind.
